Vietnam Health Project (VHP)
Every Vietnamese child has grown up with this lullaby. Vietnamese proverbs always celebrate the connection, love and sharing between humans in an organic, simple and natural way. Regardless of background, people should always help and provide for each other. Our student organization is committed to helping those in need.
Our organization is interested in learning about and assisting with issues regarding the health and sanitation of the communities in Vietnam. Each student gains valuable experience as they learn about and immerse themselves within the culture in order to help educate a new generation of Vietnamese children. The students in turn become better ambassadors and leaders.
Our Mission
The Vietnam Health Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting poverty in Vietnam. Through fundraising and volunteering, we are able to fund a trip to Vietnam to create our own unique sustainable project to guide communities towards meeting human needs. Our efforts are focused on providing healthcare, basic education, improving living conditions and developing public infrastructures. Past projects in Vietnam include building schools and houses, providing healthcare supplies to orphanages, and forming partnerships with local organizations.
We incorporate various leadership, volunteering and learning opportunities both locally and internationally to provide a unique experience for our members. We welcome all UW-Madison students and community members in joining our mission to becoming a solution for some of our global disparities.
