This clinic in the village of Hai An was constructed in 2010 by the D.O.V.E. Fund.
It’s a rare opportunity to be able to interact with communities different from what we have known. It’s a unique situation that both parties are not quite familiar with but embrace nevertheless. Because how often are you given opportunities like this?
This summer’s project is different from what VHP has ever experienced. A snapshot: 24 individuals. 1 physican. 5 graduate students. 18 undergraduate students. Individuals coming from Wisconsin to D.C. to Maryland, with educational backgrounds ranging from medicine and public health to education to political science. 1 community in the village of Hai An. New partnerships with Ohio’s D.O.V.E. Fund and UW’s APAMSA. An opportunity to learn from the Vietnamese community and from each other.
Needless to say, after almost a year-long process of planning and fundraising, we are ready to see the work materialize!
